“Open Doors, Open Hearts, Open Minds.” These threebrief phrases, which appear each Sunday in our service bulletin, summarize what we at St. Paul’s Church are trying to become as acommunity of faith. We are a fellowship of seekers, exploring theChristian Gospel and its implications for our lives, and lookingfor new ways in which it can be applied as the world around us --and our understanding of that world -- changes.
If you are looking for a community of perfect Christians, thisisn’t it. We all have our share of foibles, failures, and sins, butwe know, in Jesus Christ, that we are forgiven sinners, andthat makes all the difference. In our halting way, we strive tomake the undying love and unlimited forgiveness of God a realityfor one another and for everyone we meet.
At the center of our common life is our weekly celebration ofthe Holy Eucharist on Sunday mornings, when we are nourished by thesacrament of Christ's Body and Blood, celebrate our unity asfollowers of our Lord, and experience a foretaste of that heavenlybanquet which awaits us all.
All are welcome at our weekly celebration, and we try tocommunicate the all-embracing love of God by including thefollowing statement in every Sunday bulletin: Whoever you are, wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome toreceive Holy Communion at the Lord's Table.
This means you! We would love to have you join us.
